Cambridge Update
Well, we are starting to get things headed in the right direction. We have won 3 of our last 4 games with wins over Northwestern, Saegertown, and Union City. The Saegertown win was bitter sweet for obvious reasons but the union City win was a nice win for our kids as Union City beat us earlier in the season by 12 points. Although the boys have started to show signs of improvement we still have so much work to do to get to the next level.
We face the tough part of our region schedule in the next week and a half starting with Girard on Friday followed by Fairview and Mercyhurst Prep. I am very interested to see how we fare against these three teams as this will show our kids just how much work we need to do to get Cambridge back to a playoff contender.

Good Luck tonight, it seems like you have the troops heading in the right direction.
I know you are the coach and know Girard well, but let me know what you think of these suggestions.
1. Face guard Rickard at the defensive end make it difficult for him to get the ball(get him out of his rythm)and run him off a lot of screens at the offensive end. By the 4th quarter, he should be pretty exhausted.
2. Have all other defenders pick up inside the arc. This should eliminate back doors and three point attempts. Girard's offense is east and west. This will give them trouble scoring. This also means you only have to worry about the post to elbow screen when they pass to the corner, the high ball screen, and the UCLA cut.
3. Front Ferrick in the post, make Girard lob it into the post. Also, play him straight up when he gets it at the foul line. Try to draw the charge.
4. Attack Ferrick at the defensive end and get him in foul trouble.
5. Early possessions are critical. Make them play a little D, get them spread out. If the game is in the 30's it's to your advantage.
6. Mix up the defense a little bit, play a little Diamond and 1
Let me know what you think.
