Cambridge Update

Well, we are starting to get things headed in the right direction. We have won 3 of our last 4 games with wins over Northwestern, Saegertown, and Union City. The Saegertown win was bitter sweet for obvious reasons but the union City win was a nice win for our kids as Union City beat us earlier in the season by 12 points. Although the boys have started to show signs of improvement we still have so much work to do to get to the next level.
We face the tough part of our region schedule in the next week and a half starting with Girard on Friday followed by Fairview and Mercyhurst Prep. I am very interested to see how we fare against these three teams as this will show our kids just how much work we need to do to get Cambridge back to a playoff contender.

Cambridge Update

We got our 2nd win of the season last night against Northwestern on the road. It was a good win for our kids who are just trying to find themselves and figure out our system. We are trying very hard to build the program at Cambridge in this our first year. For that we will take any win we can get as they have been few and far between. The kids are however starting to show signs of improvement but we still have so much work to do to get where we want to be.

Up next we take on Saegertown Friday evening at our place. This will obviously be a very difficult challenge for our kids. It will also be difficult for myself and Coach Z. as this is the last group of kids that came up through our system at Saegertown. They have great kids who work real hard, and I wish all of them the best of luck Friday no matter what the outcome.

Cambridge Springs Tournament

Greenville won the Tournament with a 47-45 win over the Blue Devils to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Spa showed it's youth in the championship game playing very up and down. Cambridge had a 5 point lead twice in the contest but could not hold on for the victory.
All 4 teams at this tournament looked pretty equal and the scores of the 4 games reflected just that with no team winning by more than 4 points, Amazing

Congratulations to Greenville.

Opening Night 2007-2008

I am happy to announce that we here at BigSkinny will provide full coverage of the North East vs Hickory game Friday night. This game was requested by a few of you on our board and after looking over the schedules this seems to be a great game to provide coverage. I will be at Cambridge coaching against Laurel from the WPIAL and will provide a bit of coverage from our game as well. We are off and running, enjoy the season everyone!
Remember to get your scores to us and we will post them to our ticker ASAP.

Boston Celtics

Did any of you get a chance to see Boston's home opener against Washington the other night? What an atmoshere, I have not seen anything like that in Boston for many, many years. Oh by the way, the Celtics looked very good controling the game from start to finish. I know it's early but the C's are going to be a force this season in the Eastern Conference.

It's been a long time coming to one of the great franchises in NBA history.
